i dont see anyone else doing something. at least im not booking my friends band at ottawa charging 7$ a head and making hand over fist money Ottawa has a $5 limit for all local shows, actually. No one booking here has made any money, and we still pay a good chunk of the bills out of our pockets because Windsor desperately needed a real DIY place like this for shows again. But by all means, best of luck with your shows at the Roxie, our place is too small for kickboxing anyways.

they took their songs off their myspace, and they havent officially recorded anything. Your best bet is to go see them live anyways, watching them perform is half the fun. It is a spectacle.

haha... wow. it's clearly a difference in taste, which is nothing that can be negotiated, i guess. i said i had been going to shows for six years, not that there hasn't been anything good in six years. i went to tallywacker's shows, i went to their first show, & i went to their last show. which was about a year & a half ago. like i mentioned, that was the last time i enjoyed any show in windsor, a year & a half ago. anyway, i don't care if you're not interested. i see why i stopped posting here. you guys enjoy your shows haha

I must admit, I really don't care for windsor's metal scene. I think we have a better punk/indie scene. The only metal bands we had that I enjoyed were Machines! and Closed casket. All we have are these moshcore bands and/or generic metalcore (though some bands do it quite well I'll admit). Now here's the funny thing: I'm pretty sure you guys only want more of these bands, because there's not enough of them "in this shitty scene", so while everyone is obssesed with breakdowns and Waking the cadaver and Dr. Acula all the other genres of metal are basically non existent in this city. And this annoys me, being a douchebag metal elitist myself. Where the hell are all the:
thrash, grind, black, symphonic, folk, death, etc metal bands? Oh, and yes I've tried/am still trying to start bands like these, but as stated before, the only people who want to play metal need chuggs everyone minute in their songs.
But, while I pray, I'll still attend the other shows because we get some pretty damn good ones here and there. Yes, seeing Beneath the massacre in Windsor was nice, and it's too bad they don't come here more often, but when the fuck was the last time Primordial or Wolves in the throne room played anywhere near here? So fuck, I can complain twice as much.
P.S. - Masturbating in front of robots is still looking for a drummer, and I haven't practiced with my other guitarist in weeks................cry
Oh and also, lots of people are trying to book bands to come play, I (attempted) that Eating glass show, and the trumpet player in my band is promoting that Keepin' 6 show that's going down next week, so it's not like we aren't doing anything to "improve the scene" we just don't have as many br00talz playing all the time.
