saw chuck from hot water/rumbleseat and ben from lucero last night in detroit. fucking great. Ben did a Townes Van Zandt cover, which is a big deal to me, and Chuck did a handful of HWM songs, and his version of AK3's 'bleeder' from their split. plus rumbleseat songs and originals. so good. is that a playlist?

Eugene Robinson - Fight (2xCD audio-book). This is pretty awesome. I really wanted to buy the actual book, but it was too expensive and too cumbersome, the thing is like a extra large coffee table book. Anyways this was cheap at my work so I decided to pick it up and it's pretty sweet. Anyone else read/hear this? There are some clips posted here for anyone who's interested: www.fye.com/Fight-Miscellaneous_stcVVproductId30425442VVcatId459100VVviewprod.htm

Not what I expected but more than I had hoped for. You're right, it's cumbersome and expensive, but it's also very well layed out, funny and informative. There's a really conversational style to most of it. Where I had expected a dry intellectual treatise on the fistic arts, i got something really wry and witty. While the style can be a bit of tricky read sometimes (almost TOO conversational) I really recommend it. anyone who appreciates combat, I guess.
